How to Identify Duplicates on Your Product List
Greenline makes it easy to identify duplicates found in your product list by placing a yellow warning box at the top of the list page when duplicates are present.
Clicking "See more" will expand the warning box to show a list of which products are in duplicate.
In the expanded drop-down, make note of, or simply highlight, right-click and copy the SKU.
Input the SKU to the product search bar at the top of the product list and click Apply to view the duplicated product.
How to Fix Duplicates
Now that you can see the duplicates, how do you fix them?
The first thing is to go to the Inventory Overview on the dashboard and check whether one or both of the product versions contain inventory.
In this example, we can see that both version of the same product have inventory at Success Team Store:
For a variety of reasons, it is important that only one of these product versions contains inventory and with this in mind, it is necessary to audit the inventory from one version into the other.
Auditing Duplicates
As with any audit, first count and confirm the number of units physically on-hand at your store.
You may audit the inventory directly within the Inventory - Overview by clicking the inventory value on the right side or you may use the Inventory - Audit section on the dashboard to adjust several products at once.

In this example, we will audit OUT the 5 units of "Blue Dream 1g" and audit IN those units to the "Blue Dream 1g Dried Flower" version:
After the inventory is adjusted, all units will be contained in only one version of the product:
What About Barcodes?
Correcting duplicate barcodes requires the same process as duplicate SKUs.
There will be a warning box specifically for any duplicate barcodes present on your product list.
Keep in mind that duplicate SKUs and barcodes may not always relate to the same products.
Cleaning Up the Product List
Now that you've adjusted the inventory into a single version of the product, the product list will still alert you to duplicates present. This is due to both product versions still being active on the list, regardless of inventory.
Since we only require one active version of the product, the solution is to deactivate the unwanted version. In this case, we know that we no longer need the version that is missing the product photo as inventory was adjusted into the version with a photo.
To clear the duplicate warnings, let's deactivate the product:
- Click into the product to view its details
- Turn OFF the toggle for Active (shows up on POS)
- Click Save
Now go back to the Product List and you will see that the duplicate SKU and barcode warnings are gone.
You have now successfully cleared those problematic duplicates!
