Autoprint allows you to automatically print receipts and packing slips from online orders that arrive in your POS.
Enabling Autoprint
The Autoprint feature must be enabled within the Greenline POS app:
- Click the GR logo in the top left corner
- Go to Settings > Sales Settings
- Turn ON the toggle for Auto Print Receipts under Online Order Options
You will then be required to select a single printer that will be responsible for printing the receipts and packing slips for every online order that arrives at the POS:
- Select a Printer - choose the printer dedicated to online order receipts and packing slips
- Receipt Type - choose whether to print Online Order Receipts, Packing Slips or both
Once the setting is enabled on one device, it cannot be enabled on another device for the same store location. This will prevent you from capturing duplicate receipts for single orders.
Printer Compatibility
Here are a few things to consider, depending on your printer model and selected print version (V1 or V2, read more HERE):
(Android tablets do not support Version 1)
TSP100 Series
If you're using a Star Micronics TSP100 series printer with Version 1 or Version 2, we highly recommend having a dedicated POS device in addition to a dedicated printer for the best in-store experience and functionality
If an online order arrives while an in-store sale is being completed, the online order receipt will block any further action on the POS until the receipt is printed. The message "Printing online order in progress" appears on the POS when an order arrives, the receipt will print and you will then be able to continue on the POS.
mC-Print or TSP650 Series
If you're using the Star Micronics mC-Print or TSP650 series printer with Version 2, you will be able to use the same POS for both in-store sales and Autoprint of online orders.
If an online order arrives while an in-store sale is being completed, the receipts will be queued in the printer before printing. It is important to ensure you are providing the customer with the correct receipt as there is no way to control the order queue.
FAQ
Q: Will my orders automatically print overnight?
A: Online orders are only printed if the POS app is open and the internet is connected. If the app is closed or internet connection lost, new orders will not automatically print until the app and internet connection are back online.
Q: What happens if I minimize the Greenline app?
A: The app must be active on the tablet screen for online orders to automatically print. If the app is minimized, receipts will print again once the app is back in use.
Q: Will my orders get printed if there's no active shift on the POS device?
A: No. There must be an active shift for online orders to automatically print at the POS.
Q: Is the Autoprint feature available on WebPOS?
A: No. At this time, the Autoprint feature is only available for iOS/Android tablets for POS.
